In my spare time I’ve been working on some simple language tools to make my life easier. I’m not quite ready to release them to the public yet, but I did want to talk about them here. Hopefully my readers will have some ideas on how I could make these tools a little bit more useful.

Introducing Lingomi’s Pinyin IME (also coming soon)
Another annoying thing about blogging in Chinese is typing pinyin. There are a bunch of pinyin conversion pages out there, but most of the time you end up doing a lot of copying and pasting or you type out a big block of test like this: Wo3 xi3 huan1 xue2 zhong1 wen2 dan4 shi4, da3 pin1 yin1 hen3 ma3 fan5. Doesn’t that look strange to you? And if you happen to make a mistake, you have to go back and try again.
I’ve already found these tools to be pretty useful. If you’d like to give the a try, let me know. Here’s to simpler blogging for Chinese.
